This is framed within the interpretive and socio-critical paradigms, with a qualitative approach, the type of research is applied educational. The sample is 70 students and three teachers. Among other techniques, the survey, the observation and the interview were used, and among the instruments the pedagogical test for the students, the questionnaire, the observation guide and the interview guide were used. The most important result is the design of a methodological strategy to optimize the production of texts that allows students to go through the stages of sensitivity, pre-writing, writing and post-writing; These being supervised by the teacher, following indications for their practice. It ends by concluding that the study exhibits a solid approach that will change the teacher's practice and develop a better production of texts in students.La investigación plantea el diseño de una estrategia metodológica para optimizar la producción de textos en los estudiantes del curso de Comunicación Escrita del primer ciclo de un instituto de educación superior de Lima. Esta se encuadra dentro de los paradigmas interpretativo y sociocrítico, de enfoque cualitativo, el tipo de investigación es aplicada educacional. La muestra es de 70 estudiantes y tres docentes. Se usaron entre otras técnicas la encuesta, la observación y la entrevista, y entre los instrumentos se empleó la prueba pedagógica para los estudiantes, el cuestionario, la guía de observación y la guía de entrevistas. Como resultado más importante se encuentra el diseño de una estrategia metodológica para optimizar la producción de textos que permite a los alumnos atravesar las etapas sensibilización, preescritura, escritura y posescritura; siendo estas supervisadas por el docente, siguiendo indicaciones para su práctica.
