This study qualitatively analyzes his literary production, highlighting his pedagogical contributions (moral values, reader formation) and the use of Amazonian verbal mimesis (imitation of regional speech). A biographical-narrative method and content analysis of 43 stories were employed, complemented by semi-structured interviews with specialists and family members. The results show that his literature combines didactic intent with aesthetic quality, rescues Amazonian oral tradition through idioms and local dialects, and can be used as a pedagogical resource to promote reading. The discussion emphasizes that his work reflects Amazonian culture and provides a valuable contribution to the Peruvian educational curriculum in terms of interculturality and comprehensive education. The study concludes that it is essential to reassess and incorporate Izquierdo Ríos' stories into school programs to enrich the educational experience and preserve cultural heritage.Francisco Izquierdo Ríos (1910-1981), destacado escritor peruano de la Amazonía, es reconocido por su obra de cuentos infantiles y juveniles que, pese a su valor educativo y cultural, ha sido marginada en el ámbito escolar nacional. Este estudio analiza cualitativamente su producción literaria, destacando sus contribuciones pedagógicas (valores morales, formación del lector) y el uso de la mímesis verbal amazónica (imitación del habla regional). Se empleó un método biográfico-narrativo y análisis de contenido de 43 cuentos, complementado con entrevistas semiestructuradas a especialistas y familiares. Los resultados evidencian que su literatura combina intención didáctica con calidad estética, rescata la tradición oral amazónica mediante modismos y dialectos locales, y puede utilizarse como recurso pedagógico para fomentar la lectura. En la discusión, se subraya que su obra refleja la cultura amazónica y ofrece un valioso aporte al currículo educativo peruano en términos de interculturalidad y formación integral.
