Cameron, is a detailed study of the reception and evolution of psychoanalysis in England. Forrester also translated Jacques Lacan’s seminars into English, a major task considering the peculiarities of Lacan’s style. This communication briefly presents his biography and tries to assess his work.John Forrester (1949-2015) fue un estudioso británico de la historia de la doctrina freudiana y de la evolución del movimiento psicoanalítico. Su primer libro, Los orígenes del psicoanálisis en el lenguaje (1980), analiza el rol de las palabras en los planteamientos y en la terapia desarrollados por Sigmund Freud. Su última obra, Freud in Cambridge (2017), escrita con L. Cameron, es un detenido estudio de la recepción y evolución del psicoanálisis en Inglaterra. Forrester tradujo, además, los seminarios de Jacques Lacan al inglés, tarea de envergadura teniendo en cuenta las particularidades del estilo de Lacan.
