As a methodological support, critical reflection about the subject is carried out, from a qualitative analysis based on bibliographic or documentary sources, among its findings, it stands out that teachers need to appropriate a variety of pedagogical strategies that guide the teaching-learning processes, as a way of guarantee opportunities and achieve an approach to equity in the face of a globalized society. Likewise, that educational programs must reflect curricular proposals that guarantee the integral formation of the student, from an education focused on cultural valuation, in correspondence with the development of competencies focused on the effective attention of cultural diversity, beyond the simple admission of students of foreign origin to the educational system.El presente artículo surge desde el encuentro académico del seminario doctoral Desarrollo de Competencias Mediante el Planeamiento Didáctico del Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Metropolitana de Educación Ciencia y Tecnología (UMECIT) es un análisis reflexivo sobre el desafío que representa la educación intercultural en los contextos reales y actuales impuestos por la movilidad cultural y su articulación con las competencias en el desarrollo curricular; el propósito es visualizar las interrelaciones del fenómeno migratorio en los sistemas educativos, desde la necesaria contextualización del currículo a la diversidad cultural. Como soporte metodológico se realiza la reflexión crítica sobre el tema, desde un análisis cualitativo basado en fuentes bibliográficas o documentales, se destaca entre sus hallazgos, que los docentes requieren apropiar una variedad de estrategias pedagógicas que orienten los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, como forma de garantizar oportunidades y lograr un acercamiento a la equidad frente a la sociedad globalizada.
