To this end, works from the National Digital Repository of Science, Technology and Innovation and scientific journals have been reviewed.  It has been demonstrated that soils can be contaminated by mining, by being located near factories, metallurgical industries, agriculture and by contamination resulting from vehicular traffic. Water can also be contaminated by both legal and illegal mining. The grasses, vegetables and fruits consumed daily can bioaccumulate lead.  According to the WHO, only 5 µg/dL can cause harm to human health. This information should help our authorities involved with health and the environment to reflect on the tasks to be carried out to mitigate and prevent this serious damage to the health of human beings.Los metales pesados como por ejemplo el plomo es de importancia porque pueden generar daño en la salud y causar un impacto negativo en suelo y agua que son fuente de exposición al plomo para los seres humanos; la presente investigación tiene como objeto revisar trabajos que confirmen la presencia de plomo en suelo y agua, así como también en frutas y verduras y analizar el efecto que puede ocasionar en las personas. Para ello se ha revisado trabajos del Repositorio Nacional Digital de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación y revistas científicas.  Queda demostrado que los suelos pueden contaminarse por efecto de la explotación minera, por ubicarse cerca de fábricas, industrias metalúrgicas, la agricultura y por la contaminación que resulta del tránsito vehicular. Así también, el agua puede contaminarse por la explotación minera legal como ilegal. Los pastos, verduras y frutas que se consumen diariamente pueden bioacumular plomo.  Todo ello resulta preocupante, según la OMS tan solo 5 µg/dL puede causar daño en la salud del hombre.
