Using a quantitative-descriptive approach, a questionnaire was administered to a non-probability sample of 34 students. The results showed a predominance of neutral ratings (45%-58.82%) across the four dimensions evaluated: theoretical-pedagogical knowledge, didactic planning, assessment, and classroom adaptation. The greatest uncertainties were found in the creation of innovative materials (55.88% neutral) and the design of assessment instruments (50% neutral), while teacher reflection (41.18% agreement) and formative feedback (38.24% agreement) showed moderate perceptions. It is concluded that training programs need to be reformulated with practical approaches, didactic innovation, and attention to diversity in the classroom.La formación docente constituye un eje fundamental para garantizar la calidad educativa. Es por ello que la investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las competencias didácticas percibidas por los estudiantes de la carrera de Educación Básica de una universidad pública ecuatoriana. Mediante un enfoque cuantitativo-descriptivo, se aplicó un cuestionario a una muestra no probabilística de 34 estudiantes. Se obtuvo como resultados una predominancia de valoraciones neutrales (45 % - 58,82 %) en las cuatro dimensiones evaluadas: conocimiento teórico-pedagógico, planificación didáctica, evaluación y adaptación al aula. Las mayores incertidumbres se ubicaron en la creación de materiales innovadores (55,88 % neutralidad) y el diseño de instrumentos evaluativos (50 % neutralidad), mientras que la reflexión docente (41,18 % acuerdo) y la retroalimentación formativa (38,24 % acuerdo) mostraron percepciones moderadas.
