Thus, the present review work, framed in content analysis, describes, analyzes and discusses the main practical dimensions of managerial leadership, its criticisms and limitations, as well as exposes the perspective of distributive leadership as a key approach and strategy to consider to advance both in the knowledge of this polysemic construct, as well as in its transfers and strategies for the sustainable improvement of learning in the school organization. As a key result of this review, emerging as a focus of analysis of leadership practices, both for research and for different application perspectives, the characteristics and effects of the interaction between leader, collaborators and situation.Una diversidad de estudios, reflexiones y políticas en estas dos últimas décadas han destacado la pertinencia y relevancia que posee el liderazgo en los centros educativos como factor crítico de calidad y equidad, en independencia del contexto sociocultural y modalidades de organización escolar para el desarrollo de las instituciones escolares. Así, el presente trabajo de revisión, enmarcado en el análisis de contenido, describe, analiza y discute sobre las principales dimensiones prácticas de liderazgo directivo, sus críticas y limitaciones, como asimismo, expone la perspectiva del liderazgo distributivo como enfoque y estrategia clave a considerar para avanzar tanto en el conocimiento de este constructo polisémico, como también en sus transferencias y estrategias para la mejora sostenibles de los aprendizajes en la organización escolar.
