The research was carried out through a quasi -experimental design and which had 40 students, with a control and experimental group. Every group with 20 students respectively (4° and 5° grades). This research carried out the phases of the experiment, by implementing the COOPERSMITH test, surveys, and interviews; it allowed to identify the problematic reality referred at the level of self-esteem and how it influences in their school performance, which didn't allow them to develop all their potentialities and cognitive and affective skills, the results were that the students so much for the experimental group as in the group control that possess a low academic performance and this is due to the influence that tends to have a low self-esteem. After having developed the experiment on the basis of the theoretical references used, it was confirmed that the school performance improved its quality. The results indicate the advantageous that is to apply this type of stimulus in an effort to improve the academic performance of students. At conclude, the implemented program, it can be said that self-esteem program contributed successfully on the improvement of performance in each of these students.El presente artículo de investigación muestra la Influencia de un Programa de Autoestima en el Rendimiento Escolar aplicado a alumnos de Cuarto y Quinto, Grado de Educación Primaria en la Institución Educativa Nº 10039 del Distrito de Nueva Arica- 2012”. La investigación se realizó a través de un diseño cuasi–experimental y se contó con 40 alumnos, de los cuales 20 conformaron el grupo control (5° “Única”) y 20 alumnos el Grupo experimental (4° “Única”). Se aplicó el test de COOPERSMITH, encuestas, entrevistas y se cumplieron con las fases del experimento; permitió identificar la realidad problemática referido al nivel de autoestima y cómo influye en su rendimiento escolar, la cual no les permitía desarrollar todas sus potencialidades, habilidades cognitivas y afectiva, los resultados fueron que los alumnos tanto para el grupo experimental como en el grupo control poseen un bajo rendimiento académico y esto se debe a la influencia que tiende a tener una baja autoestima. Después de haber desarrollado el experimento sobre la base de los referentes teóricos utilizados, se constató que el rendimiento escolar mejoro su calidad. Los resultados indican lo favorable que es aplicar este tipo de estímulos con el afán de mejorar el rendimiento académico de los alumnos.
