In this context, the research aimed to determine the relationship between satisfaction with life and job satisfaction of administrative employees in a private university in the city of Chimbote. The research, according to its scope, is of a correlational descriptive type, with a non-experimental design and its transverse temporality. The study sample consisted of 130 collaborators, 51 belonged to the female sex and 79 to the male. The information was collected through two questionnaires: the first to measure satisfaction with life, adapted of Alama, Motosono y Ramos (2016), and the second. The Labor Satisfaction by Ruiz, Zavaleta y Ruíz (2017). With the use of the rho Spearman test, it was found that the level of satisfaction with life is medium (55%) and job satisfaction presents a medium level (66.9%). Finally, it was found that there is a high positive relationship (r = 0.765) significant (p <0.05) between satisfaction with life and job satisfaction of administrative employees of a private university in the city of Chimbote, that is, t greater satisfaction with life, higher job satisfaction.En el ámbito de los sistemas de gestión del talento humano, el estudio de la satisfacción con la vida se ha convertido en un constructo muy significativo para comprender cómo los aspectos subjetivos de la persona, que comprenden su situación personal familiar, social y ciudadana se relacionan con la satisfacción laboral. En este contexto, la investigación se planteó determinar la relación que existe entre la satisfacción con la vida y satisfacción laboral en una universidad privada de Chimbote. La investigación, según su alcance es de tipo descriptivo y correlacional, el diseño no experimental y por su temporalidad transeccional. La muestra de estudio fue 130 colaboradores administrativos, 51 pertenecieron al sexo femenino y 79 al masculino. El recojo de información se realizó a través de dos cuestionarios: el primero, adaptado de Alama, Motosono y Ramos (2016) para recoger información de la satisfacción con la vida; y el segundo, el Test de Satisfacción laboral SL-ARG de Ruíz, Zavaleta y Ruíz (2017). Con el uso de la prueba rho Spearman se comprobó que predomina el nivel medio tanto en la satisfacción con la vida (55%) como en la satisfacción laboral (66.9%).
