I had that experience in front of people who believed they were serving God and killed their brothers, some directly and others allowing this to happen, that is, being complicit in silence or indirectly collaborating with an anti-subversive struggle that has produced the majority of the disappeared detainees of the last 20 years. This article is part of a more extensive and documented text that I am preparing as a contribution to the tasks of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.El título de este trabajo ha sido cuidadosamente escogido, porque hay personas que en nombre de Dios han dado muerte a seres humanos, la mayoría cristianos, campesinos pobres, niños, jóvenes, mujeres... Y trágicamente, como ya lo anunciara el mismo Jesús, precisamente antes de ser asesinado por las autoridades religiosas de su tiempo, creyeron que estaban haciendo el bien y hasta sirviendo al Dios de Jesús. Esa experiencia la tuve frente a gente que creía servir a Dios y dio muerte a sus hermanos, a algunos de manera directa y a otros permitiendo que eso suceda, es decir, siendo cómplices con el silencio o colaborando de manera indirecta con una lucha antisubversiva que ha producido la mayoría de los detenidos desaparecidos de los últimos 20 años.
