In effect, it was a question of confronting popular peasant culture, the material and mental world of the Quechua and Aymara speakers, with the changes that the development of capitalism inevitably brought about in rural spaces: at least, in chronological terms, the subject should limited to recent dates that, as we expressly said, could be the last fifty years.Hace más de un año, cuando pensamos dedicar un número de Allpanchis al tema de la "cultura andina", nos proponíamos en realidad abordad un problema más específico que el expresado en un título así. En efecto, se trataba de confrontar a la cultura popular campesina, al mundo material y mental de los quechua y aymarahablantes, con los cambios que inevitablemente acarreó en los espacios rurales el desarrollo del capitalismo: por lo menos, en términos cronológicos, el tema debía circunscribirse a fechas recientes que, como lo decíamos expresamente, podrían ser los últimos cincuenta años.
