The differences begin with the classification of the ailments, the recognition of the symptoms and the association between these and the different pathological categories. They permeate the meaning of "being sick", the body-mind relationship (if any separation is recognized), the influence of the social world on people's perception of well-being, and even the influence of spiritual beings and supernatural forces.Promover la salud y prolongar la vida son algunos de los valores más caros de toda sociedad humana. Tal universalidad contrasta, sin embargo, con lo relativas que son las múltiples maneras de entender la salud y la enfermedad. Las diferencias comienzan con la clasificación de las dolencias, el reconocimiento de los síntomas y la asociación entre éstos y las distintas categorías patológicas.
