| Sumario: | OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the knowledge about contraceptives, its uses, efficacy, and adverse effects in an adolescent’s population of a public high school. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Descriptive retrospective study based on national and regional literature. RESULTS: Voluntary donations increased to 19.0%, screening of blood spread with the seven tests at 100% of the units collected nationwide, avoiding transfusion HIV infection, hepatitis B and C, HTLV-1 and 2, syphilis and Chagas disease. CONCLUSIONS: Implementation of Hemotherapy and Blood Banks National Program (PRONAHEBAS) had a positive impact by increasing transfusion safety by expanding testing and voluntary donation. |
