The objective of this study was to determine the concentration of the elements As, Cd, Cu, Mn, Se and Zn in this species (muscle tissue and liver tissue) in the coastal zone of Lima. A total of 32 samples were collected, during 8 months (period from september 2018 to march 2019), in the Artisanal Fisheries Markets of Chorrillos and Ancon, determining the concentration ofthe mentioned elements by means of optical emission spectrophotometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES). In general, the highest average concentrations of elements were found in liver tissue compared to muscle tissue for both areas (cadmium and manganese were not detected in muscle tissue). It was evidenced that there is no significant difference between the means of the concentrations for the two sampling areas (with the exception of copper). Positive correlation was evidenced only in some of the elements under study.La “pintadilla” (Cheilodactylus variegatus Valenciennes, 1833) es una especie marina que se desarrolla cerca de la costa y es capturada por la pesca artesanal para consumo humano. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la concentración de los elementos As, Cd, Cu, Mn, Se y Zn en esta especie (tejido muscular y tejido hepático) en la zona costera de Lima. Se recolectaron un total de 32 muestras, durante 8 meses (periodo de setiembre 2018 a marzo 2019), en los mercados pesqueros artesanales de Chorrillos y Ancón, determinándose la concentración de los elementos citados mediante la espectrofotometría de emisión ópticacon plasma de acoplamiento inductivo (ICP-OES). En general, las mayores concentraciones promedio de elementos fueron encontradas en el tejido hepático en comparación con el tejido muscular para ambas zonas (cadmio y manganeso no se detectaron en el tejido muscular). Se evidenció que no hay diferencia significativa entre las medias de las concentraciones para las dos zonas de muestreo (con excepción del cobre).
