The number of intrapartum complications and type of presentation are the only independent variables with statistical significance. It should also be considered that the effect of the interrelationship of variables is a significant fact, both for handling the individual patients, as the population groups.Se analiza los efectos de siete variables independientes sobre la variable dependiente Mortalidad Perinatal, utilizándose los datos obtenidos, prospectiva restrospectivamente, en mil partos consecutivos ocurridos entre febrero y junio de 1973 en el Hospital General Base Cayetano Heredia. El número de complicaciones intraparto y el tipo de presentación son las únicas variables independientes con significado estadístico.
