However, already in 1977 Williams and Pratt Mayo Clinic had found in 50% of gynecological laparotomy they performed. In the same institution, the pathologist Dockerty taught us to see, in each section than practiced, the deciduosis present in virtually all reviewed ovary, reconfirmed by my practice and recently in the literatura2 finding. Furthermore, it was observed that the cause of endometriosis is higher number of abortions and stillbirths ectopic pregnancies.La endometriosis consiste en implantes ectópicos de tejido endometrial, con efectos sobre el líquido peritoneal, el número y la actividad de los macrófagos, los picos de LH, entre otros. Se considera que la incidencia varia entre 10 y 15% y, en mujeres infértiles, entre 30 a 40%. Nosotros hemos encontrado 48 casos de endometriosis en 79 laparoscopias, Con una incidencia de 60,7%1. Sin embargo, ya en 1977 Williams y Pratt de la Clínica Mayo la habían encontrado en 50% de las laparotomías ginecológicas que ellos realizaron. En la misma institución, el patólogo Dockerty nos enseñó a observar, en cada cesárea que practicábamos, la deciduosis presente en prácticamente todo ovario revisado, hallazgo reconfirmado por mi práctica y recientemente en la literatura2.
