Descripción
Sumario:Structural discrimination is the set of practices reproduced by sociocultural patterns installed in people, institutions and society in general. One of the effects is the violation of the rights to sexual and reproductive health, which is expressed in exclusionary and violent practices, thus violating the human right to a life free of violence. The Gender Inequality Index (GDI) measures gender gaps in Peru, addresses this problem in the aspect of sexual and reproductive health as an important variable of human development. The social and economic situation caused by the Covid -19 pandemic in Peru has generated an increase in inequality and disadvantage of women to assume their sexual and reproductive rights, a situation that is evidenced by the increase in physical and psychological violence, adolescent pregnancy and maternal death.
