| Sumario: | Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic revealed negative consequences in public health, where the vulnerability of pregnant women with different pre-existing conditions, physiological and immunological changes could favor the increased risk of more serious viral infections affecting their health and that of the newborn. Objective: To determine the obstetric and perinatal characteristics of pregnant women with COVID-19 treated in the Obstetric and Gynecological Emergency of the Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins EsSalud 2020. Materials and Methods: Descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study in 322 pregnant women with COVID-19 and termination of the delivery, from March to December 2020; The technique was documentary, reviewing electronic medical records and service records, materializing obstetric and perinatal variables in a data collection sheet validated by experts; Statistical software Stata 16.0 was used for data analysis. Results: The obstetric characteristics are minimum age of 15, maximum of 45, with an average of 31 years; they are multigesta in 45.65%; 56.52% had contact with an infected person; 82.61% were not controlled (<6 APN); preterm in 19.88%; 3.42% with multiple gestation; 23.60% had premature rupture of membranes; 90.68% were cesarean section for obstetric causes; 62.73% are asymptomatic; 50.62% present comorbidity such as overweight / obesity in 27.33%. In the perinatal characteristics, 58.13% were male; 17.47% were underweight, the minimum being 552 gr; the APGAR per minute. Conclusions: Pregnant women with COVID-19 were asymptomatic, they were not controlled, frequent perinatal morbidity is prematurity and low birth weight, perinatal infection with COVID-19 is rare, the time of infection being unknown, therefore it should be continue researching in the long term. |
