A phytochemical analysis was performed to identify secondary metabolites, and antimicrobial activity was assessed using well diffusion and broth microdilution methods against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus aureus, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Results: Only the bark extract of Indano (Byrsonima crassifolia) exhibited antimicrobial activity, inhibiting exclusively S. aureus with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.195 mg/mL. Conclusions: The bark of B. crassifolia contains compounds with antibacterial potential against S. aureus, supporting its traditional use. Further studies are needed to isolate the active principles and evaluate their therapeutic application.Objetivo: Evaluar el efecto antimicrobiano de extractos vegetales de plantas nativas de Moyobamba frente a microorganismos patógenos de relevancia clínica. Material y Métodos: Se recolectaron muestras de cinco especies y se obtuvieron extractos por maceración con solventes de diferente polaridad. Se realizó un análisis fitoquímico para identificar metabolitos secundarios y se evaluó la actividad antimicrobiana mediante difusión en pocillos y microdilución en caldo contra Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus aureus y Klebsiella pneumoniae. Resultados: Solo el extracto de corteza de Indano (Byrsonima crassifolia) mostró actividad antimicrobiana, inhibiendo exclusivamente a S. aureus con una CMI de 0,195 mg/mL. Conclusiones: La corteza de Indano presentó actividad específica contra S. aureus, lo que respalda su uso tradicional y sugiere potencial terapéutico.
