Knowledge about prevention of high blood pressure in older adults in the Florida Perene population center – Chanchamayo 2023

Objective: To determine the level of knowledge on the prevention of arterial hypertension in older adults of the town of Florida del Perene - Chanchamayo 2023. Material and Methods: Basic, descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional research.  The study population consisted of 70 older adults from the town of La Florida del Perene - Chanchamayo. The sample was a census.  Results: The level of knowledge about the prevention of arterial hypertension in older adults in the town of La Florida del Perene - Chanchamayo 2023.  It is low 72.9% (51), medium 20% (14) and high 7.1% (5). The level of knowledge of general knowledge about hypertension is low 51.4% (36), medium 30% (21) and high 18.6% (13).  The level of knowledge about prevention of arterial hypertension in the diet dimension is low 55.7% (39), medium 31.4% (22) and high 12.9% (9).  The level of knowledge of hypertension prevention in the physical activity dimension was low 62.9% (44), medium 32.9% (23) and high 4.3% (3). Conclusion: The level of knowledge about the prevention of arterial hypertension in older adults in the town of La Florida del Perene - Chanchamayo 2023 is low 72.9% (51).  It is low 72.9% (51).
