Descripción
Sumario:The work begins by carefully tracing the main historical and occupational events surrounding the Malvinas Islands, from their discovery in the sixteenth century to the problematic years of the nineteenth century when the territories were taken over colonially by England. The second chapter makes a critical analysis of the different sovereignty titles that Britain and the Argentine Republic claim for themselves on the basis of the above facts. The study concludes that the legitimate titles correspond to Argentina. Finally, extensive reference is made to the treatment of the Malvinas Islands problem in the international debate, preferably in the United Nations. Special detail is given in relation to the principles of Decolonisation, Self-determination and Territorial Integrity, as applied to the case under study.
