Descripción
Sumario:The article proposes a critic view about the construction of knowledge in Social Psychology. The central idea is that this construction isn't an aleatory social fact or an activity "free from values", "politically neutral", or that it "reflects" reality without ethical bias. The author states that the beforementioned process is a social activity rooted in non-scientific (ideological) a priori, related dialectically to a given time and a given society. In consequence, the activity of the' Social Psychologist and the basis of his science are questioned. The author seeks to make clear and to understand some of the normative social influences that Social Psychology as an independent discipline has suffered, as well as its potential for defining a science that helps to mantain or change a social system. Discussion is particularlly relevant for Social Psychologists working in dependent societies.
