Cinco son los factores que pueden identificarse como generadores del deterioro forestal costeño: uso doméstico para construcción y empleo de leña para cocción de alimentos; uso de madera en las actividades mineras y metalúrgicas; y empleo en la construcción naval y de transporte terrestre, con la llegada y difusión de los ferrocarriles.Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
