The article concludes with an analysis of the financial implications and strategies for managing exchange rate risk that can be applied to companies that decide to convert their capital stock to foreign currency.El presente artículo analiza la conversión del capital social de una sociedad peruana de soles a moneda extranjera, destacando sus implicaciones legales, económicas y financieras. Se analiza la función del capital social, la regla general de su expresión en moneda nacional y las excepciones que permiten su expresión en moneda extranjera. Asimismo, se detallan los requisitos para llevar a cabo esta conversión, incluyendo la necesidad de autorización administrativa y su vinculación con la contabilidad en moneda extranjera. Además, se discuten las razones para esta conversión, como la protección de la inversión extranjera, la mitigación del riesgo cambiario y la atracción de financiamiento internacional.
