Price control is one of the alternatives that are usually proposed at the political and media level.This article analyses the types of administrative price control, its possibility of implementation in the Peruvian legal system and its effects on the market. Moreover, alternatives to the use of this instrument are proposed.Durante el estado de emergencia, el país ha sufrido el desabastecimiento de ciertos productos y servicios esenciales. Para lidiar frente a dicha situación, el Poder Legislativo y el Poder Ejecutivo han tomado una serie de medidas. El control de precio se presenta como una de las alternativas que a nivel político y mediático suelen ser propuestas.En el presente artículo se analizan los tipos de control de precios a cargo de la Administración Pública, su posibilidad de implementación en el ordenamiento jurídico peruano y sus efectos en el mercado.
