The first refers to the legality or not of the incursion of the Ecuadorian police authorities into the Mexican embassy. The second rather aims to establish whether Ecuador’s argument regarding a possible poor granting of asylum to Jorge Glas legitimized its incursion into the Mexican diplomatic premises. The third question is whether Ecuador’s removal of the asylum seeker from the diplomatic premises constituted a violation of international law in itself. And finally, the fourth is whether Mexico violated international law by granting asylum to Jorge Glas.El artículo tiene como propósito resolver cuatro interrogantes planteadas en el caso de la incursión de fuerzas policiales ecuatorianas en la embajada de México en Quito, ocurrida el 5 de abril de 2024, con el propósito de sustraer al político ecuatoriano Jorge Glas, asilado en dicha misión diplomática. La primera está referida a la legalidad o no de la incursión de las autoridades policiales ecuatorianas en la embajada de México. La segunda más bien apunta a establecer si el argumento del Ecuador respecto de un posible mal otorgamiento del asilo a Jorge Glas, legitimaba su incursión en el local diplomático mexicano. La tercera interrogante es si la extracción del asilado por parte del Ecuador del local diplomático constituyó una infracción al derecho internacional por sí misma.
