In this sense, we will propose two main axes: one linked to the importance of predictions in the decision on this precautionary measure, taking into account how judicial actors elaborate such predictions. The second axis will be oriented to explore how in practice the penalty to be imposed, it becomes a central component in the application of pretrial detention.En el presente trabajo buscaremos aportar elementos desde la sociología de la justicia penal para una mejor comprensión del uso de la prisión preventiva en la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. En este sentido, propondremos dos grandes ejes: uno ligado a la importancia de las predicciones en la decisión sobre esta medida cautelar, tomando en cuenta de qué forma elaboran los actores judiciales dichas predicciones.
