This conference triggered a global shift in population and development strategies, reflected in the adoption of a Programme of Action that emphasized the prioritization of reproductive rights and the empowerment of girls, adolescents, and women worldwide. This approach also highlighted the importance of addressing inequalities and the needs, aspirations, and rights of these populations. Only through this commitment can truly sustainable and inclusive development be achieved.Hace 30 años, del 5 al 13 de septiembre de 1994 secelebró en El Cairo la Conferencia Internacional sobre la Población y el Desarrollo (CIPD), conferencia que significó un hecho histórico en el desarrollo de los derechos Humanos. Produjo un cambió mundial en las estrategias de población y desarrollo, que se reflejó en la aprobación de un Programa de Acción, en el que se estableció la importancia de priorizar los derechos reproductivos y el empoderamiento de las niñas, adolescentes y mujeres del mundo. Este enfoque incluyó la atención a las desigualdades, así como a las necesidades, aspiraciones y derechos de estas poblaciones.
