The methodology was non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory and field under a mixed research approach using for this purpose an internationally validated Instrument by the authors Honey and Alonso (2012), which was adapted to the Ecuadorian context through the opinion of 3 experts and a KR20 reliability of 0.80, the sample by convenience was applied to 174 students of first, second and third year of high school through Google Forms and the data were processed with the SPSS V.23 and Excel program. The results confirmed the moderate preference of the active style with 112 students; in consideration of gender, the male population has a preference for the active style (74), while the female population shares the same (38) but tends towards the pragmatic (36). In conclusion, the prevalence of the active learning style in technical education accompanied by the equipment for practices, complements student learning.

La metodología fue no experimental, descriptiva, explicativa y de campo bajo un enfoque mixto de investigación utilizando para ello un Instrumento validado a nivel internacional de los autores Honey y Alonso (2012), el cual fue adaptado al contexto ecuatoriano mediante la opinión de 3 expertos y una fiabilidad KR20 de 0.80, la muestra por conveniencia se aplicó a 174 estudiantes de primero, segundo y tercero de bachillerato mediante Google Forms y los datos fueron procesados con el programa SPSS V.23 y Excel. Los resultados confirmaron la preferencia moderada del estilo activo con 112 estudiantes; en consideración al sexo, la población masculina tiene su preferencia al estilo activo (74), mientras la femenina comparte el mismo (38) pero tiende hacia el pragmático (36). En conclusión, la prevalencia del estilo de aprendizaje activo en la educación técnica acompañada del equipamiento para las prácticas, complementa el aprendizaje estudiantil.O objetivo da pesquisa foi caracterizar os estilos de aprendizagem que predominam nos alunos do ensino médio técnico da Unidade Educacional Oswaldo Guayasamín, na cidade de Santo Domingo, utilizando o questionário CHAEA para melhorar seu processo de formação. A metodologia foi não experimental, descritiva, explicativa e baseada em campo sob uma abordagem de pesquisa mista usando um instrumento validado internacionalmente pelos autores Honey e Alonso (2012), que foi adaptado ao contexto equatoriano através da opinião de 3 especialistas e uma confiabilidade KR20 de 0,80, a amostra de conveniência foi aplicada a 174 alunos do primeiro, segundo e terceiro ano do ensino médio através do Google Forms e os dados foram processados com SPSS V.23 e Excel. Os resultados confirmaram a preferência moderada pelo estilo ativo com 112 alunos; em relação ao gênero, a população masculina tem preferência pelo estilo ativo (74), enquanto a população feminina compartilha o mesmo (38), mas tende ao pragmático (36).
