In this work we compare the personal results of three methods of containment of the femoral head within the acetabulum using abduction casts in patients with Catterall III-IV Perthes disease: Inhauser in 27 patients (32 hips), Petrie in 10 patients (11 hips), Broom Stick in 8 patients (9 hips); despite the short period of follow up we obtained better results with Petrie and Broom Stick casts, Improving first the motion with skin traction and physical therapy. The results were rated using the system of Stulberg.Se revisan los conceptos actuales sobre la Enfermedad de Legg-Calvé-Perthes; que las inmovilizaciones muy prolongados de la cadera afectada producen problemas psicológicos en los pacientes y sus familiares, y que los resultados funcionales logrados con ellos, no son superiores a los logrados con otros métodos. En el presente trabajo comparamos los resultados personales de tres métodos de contención de la cabeza femoral dentro del acetábulo, empleando yesos de abducción en pacientes con CATTERALL III-IV. Se empleó yeso Inhauser en 27 pacientes (32 caderas); Petrie en 10 pacientes (11 caderas), Broom Stick en 8 pacientes (9 caderas). A pesar del corto período de seguimiento hemos logrado mejores resultados con yeso de Broom Stick y Petrie, mejorando previamente la movilidad con tracción cutánea y terapia física. Los resultados se evalúan basados en el sistema de Stulberg.
