The psycho-drug showed an intense thymoleptical effect with an uninhibiting thymeretical component, chareacterised by the commencement of its effect within the first five day of treatment. Two patients with involuntary melancholia, four manic depressives (depressive type), one psycho-depressive and sixteen neurotic depressive cases were treated. There were only two cases of therapeutic failure, the psycho-drug showing very few side effects during the study. Se trataron 23 pacientes con distintos cuadros depresivos con maleato ácido de 8-amino-2 metil-4 fenial-1,2,3,4 tetrahidrosisoquinolina (Nomifensin) en forma de un estudio abierto a fin de comprobar eficacia y tolerancia. El psicofármaco mostró una intensa acción timoléptica con un componente desinhibidor timerético, caracterizándose por un comienzo de su acción dentro de los primeros 5 días de tratamiento.  Se trataron 2 melancolías involutivas, 4 enfermedades maníaco-depresivo (tipo depresivo), y 1 reacción psicótica depresiva y 16 neurosis depresivas.
