Mario Vargas Llosa is a writer who has built complex characters. Some of them come from the journalistic field or are learning this trade and build a meditation on the present or the past of the reality in which they have lived. Some novels where you can observe its operation as a character are Conversation in La Catedral, Pantaleón and the visitors, Aunt Julia and the writer, The Discreet Hero, etc. In many of them, the role of the journalist, as the creator of opinions, enters into debate, since this is set in the memory of a society in crisis and in times where authoritarian governments apply a single way of thinking about the world.
