The hypothesis that is planned is the existence of links between the complexity of Berman's modern human being and the visual ideas of death as an exit space to such a modern state. For this purpose, we use the theory of General Textual Rhetoric, the orientational metaphor of Lakoff and Johnson's linguistic cognitive theory and the typography of Suarez's visual poetry to differentiate the indicated poems. In this way, both poems take on a meaning where the social context affects the psychology of the subject in order to understand their vision of the world.El artículo plantea el análisis de los poemas “Suicidio” y “El destino” que forman parte de Química del espíritu (1923) del vate peruano Alberto Hidalgo. La hipótesis que se planea es la existencia de un vínculo de la complejidad del ser humano moderno de Berman con las ideas visuales de la muerte como espacio de huida a tal estado moderno. Para tal fin, emplearemos la teoría de la Retórica General Textual, la metáfora orientacional de la teoría cognitiva lingüística de Lakoff y Johnson y la tipografía de la poesía visual de Suarez para diferenciar los poemas señalados.
