In analyzing the metaphors, three types of categorizations have been found: animals as animate beings,objects as animate beings, and customs as animate beings. It is concluded that the different metaphors expressed in the Andean elements show and acquire human qualities and attitudes. They coexist with the Aymara man in his daily work. Therefore, they are considered in the Andean world as animate beings.El presente artículo está circunscrito en la corriente de la lingüística cognitiva, el cual tiene como propósito categorizar y analizar las metáforas de personificación en las canciones tradicionales aymaras. Los datos han sido recogidos en el cancionero Qala chuyma, canciones tradicionales aymaras. Al analizar las metáforas, se han encontrado tres tipos de categorizaciones: los animales como seres animados, los objetos como seres animados, y las costumbres como seres animados. Se concluye que las diferentes metáforas expresadas en los elementos andinos presentan y adquieren cualidades y actitudes humanas.
