These results provide a perspective on the importance of enforcing institutional and regulatory supervisory activities of infrastructure concession contracts in order to minimize possible political influences on the contractual stability of these contracts. |

These results provide a perspective on the importance of enforcing institutional and regulatory supervisory activities of infrastructure concession contracts in order to minimize possible political influences on the contractual stability of these contracts.La tesis doctoral se compone de tres manuscritos: (1) Ciclos Electorales y Renegociación de Contratos de Concesión de Infraestructuras de Transporte: usando análisis econométrico de series de tiempo y de supervivencia, se encuentra evidencia de que las tasas de renegociación de contratos de concesión suelen incrementarse durante periodos de elecciones presidenciales, lo que sugiere reforzar la institucionalidad y el rol de los reguladores para minimizar posibles influencias políticas que afecte la estabilidad de dichos contratos. (2) Impacto de la electrificación rural en educación: un estudio de caso del Perú: utilizando el método de variables instrumentales, se encuentra que en aquellos hogares de áreas rurales con conexión a electricidad los niños estudian 35 minutos más por día que en aquellos hogares sin conexión a electricidad.(3) Carreteras y Agricultura: Impactos de la Conectividad en el Perú: utilizando datos georreferenciados de los sectores agrícola y de transporte, así como modelo de variables instrumentales, se encuentra que las carreteras reducen el tiempo de viaje de los agricultores y aumenta sus ventas. Sin embargo, no encontramos evidencia estadística de que la provisión de caminos permita la diversificación de la producción agrícola y un aumento de su valor bruto.Argentina.
