La familia es, por su relación con la persona, el primer lugar donde se da su cuidado integral. La familia, por su naturaleza, participa de manera activa en el cuidado de la salud de sus miembros, más aún cuando éste se encuentra delicado e ingresado a una unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI).
