Para ello, se hace uso del análisis musical tradicional, lo que permite observar el movimiento armónico, rítmico y melódicos. Con respecto a la estructura de la tesis, primero analizaremos algunas canciones icónicas del género math rock provenientes de diversos continentes, para así poder encontrar elementos comunes del género en territorio extranjero. Posteriormente, este mismo análisis a las canciones es aplicado a Angelo con baja autoestima y Viejaürbana, bandas limeñas que han sobresalido en los últimos años dentro de la escena local del math rock, para destacar los elementos que han forjado un eclecticismo sonoro que aleja a esta escena de math rock de la capital peruana de sus supuestos equivalentes en el ámbito extranjero de un math rock entendido como género global. Finalmente, se logra demostrar que, pese a la influencia y similitudes entre los artistas nacionales y extranjeros, el math rock limeño también toma elementos del entorno musical al que está expuesto, generando un nuevo discurso sonoro dentro de su propia música.

In this research, traditional musical analysis is used, allowing the observation of the harmonic, rhythmic and melodic movement. Regarding the structure of the thesis, first we will analyze some iconic songs of the math rock genre from different continents, in order to find common elements of the genre in foreign territories. Subsequently, the same analysis of the songs is applied to Angelo con baja autoestima and Viejaürbana, bands from Lima that have stood out in recent years within the local math rock scene, to highlight the elements that have forged an eclecticism sound that distances this math rock scene from Lima of its supposed equivalents abroad of math rock understood as a global genre.
