Para su desarrollo y análisis, se empleó la metodología de los nueve factores de TQM de las empresas peruanas, presentes en el estudio realizado por Benzaquen (2013). Se aplicó una encuesta de treinta y cinco preguntas al total de la población de las universidades peruanas. La muestra estuvo conformada por cincuenta y un universidades y sirvió para identificar cual era el nivel de cumplimiento de los factores de éxito de TQM en el sector universitario peruano. La presente investigación logró identificar el nivel de cumplimiento de los factores de éxito de TQM en el sector universitario en el Perú, siendo los factores que obtuvieron mayor puntaje, la alta gerencia y el planeamiento de la calidad por lo que estarían tendiendo a considerar los factores de TQM en su gestión. Esta investigación fue cuantitativa y descriptiva. Los resultados del estudio arrojaron un nivel de TQM de 3.65, indicando el nivel de calidad existente en las universidades peruanas.

For its development and analysis, was used the methodology of the nine TQM factors of Peruvian companies present in the study by Benzaquen (2013). A survey of thirty-five questions to the total population of the universities in Peru was applied. The sample consisted of fifty-one universities and served to identify what was the level of fulfillment of the success factors of TQM in the Peruvian university sector. This research was able to identify the level of compliance of the success factors of TQM in the universities in Peru. Factors that obtained the highest score were senior management and quality planning, because they are considering the TQM factors in their management. This research was quantitative and descriptive.
