Participaron 10 adolescentes con edades entre los 12 a 20 años a quienes se les aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada. Se tuvo en cuenta la aplicación de las consideraciones éticas como el consentimiento, asentimiento informado y protocolo de contención durante las entrevistas. Para el análisis de dichas entrevistas se empleó el software ATLAS.ti 9. Los resultados evidenciaron que la percepción de los/as adolescentes acerca del teatro se centran en los primeros acercamientos afectivos hacia el teatro, los cambios generados en su rutina diaria, así como un incremento en su autoestima y autoconfianza. De igual manera, se considera al teatro como un arte potenciador del desarrollo emocional, social y cognitivo durante la adolescencia. En conclusión, la percepción de los/as adolescentes demuestra que el teatro es una actividad que influye en su desarrollo y descubrimiento personal, generando un impacto en su vida adulta.

The study is qualitative in nature, based on a constructionist epistemological framework from a reflective thematic analysis design. 10 adolescents aged between 12 and 20 years participated, to whom a semi-structured interview was applied. The application of ethical considerations such as consent, informed assent and containment protocol during the interviews was taken into account. For the analysis of these interviews, the ATLAS.ti 9 software was used. The results showed that the perception of adolescents about the theater is focused on the first affective approaches to the theater, the changes generated in their daily routine, as well as an increase in self-esteem and self-confidence. Similarly, theater is considered an art that enhances emotional, social and cognitive development during adolescence.
