description La presente investigación surge por el interés de analizar las transferencias rítmicas y tímbricas de la percusión afroperuana a la batería y su aplicación en el Jazz Afroperuano; debido a la falta de estudios exhaustivos para su ejecución e interpretación, esta adaptación se viene desarrollando con éxito tanto en el Perú como en el extranjero desde hace más de una década. En este trabajo se examina la cultura del jazz y su relación con la batería, así como las características fundamentales y la performance musical. Además, se realiza un estudio sobre la percusión afroperuana, incluyendo sus ritmos, instrumentos, características, patrones y notación musical. A través del análisis de fragmentos musicales desde una perspectiva rítmica e interpretativa, se establecen criterios importantes para la realización de las transferencias rítmicas y tímbricas de los instrumentos afroperuanos a la batería, y su aplicación en el “Jazz drumming” Afroperuano. Este trabajo incluye ejemplos, transcripciones y análisis recopilados en una metodología de aprendizaje para comprender y aplicar la fusión de estos dos géneros musicales. La metodología de la investigación es cualitativa, analítica, historiográfica y autoetnográfica.

La metodología de la investigación es cualitativa, analítica, historiográfica y autoetnográfica.The present research arises from the interest in analyzing the rhythmic and timbral transfers of Afro-Peruvian percussion to the drum set and its application in Afro-Peruvian Jazz. Due to the lack of exhaustive studies for its execution and interpretation, this adaptation has been successfully developed both in Peru and abroad for more than a decade. In this work, the culture of jazz and its relationship with the drum set are examined, as well as its fundamental characteristics and musical performance. In addition, a study is carried out on Afro-Peruvian percussion, including its rhythms, instruments, characteristics, patterns, and musical notation. Through the analysis of musical fragments from a rhythmic and interpretive perspective, important criteria are established for the realization of rhythmic and timbral transfers from Afro-Peruvian instruments to the drum set, and their application in Afro-Peruvian Jazz drumming. This work includes examples, transcriptions, and analyses gathered in a learning methodology for understanding and applying the fusion of these two musical genres.
