Resúmenes extendidos.5 páginasEl presente trabajo muestra los resultados del estudio geoquímico de las manifestaciones geotermales del Valle de Colca – Chivay, Provincia de Caylloma, Región Arequipa, efectuados por el INGEMMET y West Japan Engineering Consultants, INC. Este valle tiene como escenario principal el Cañon del Colca donde a una profundidad de 1200 m discurre el rio Colca con un recorrido de más de 129 km, en dirección SO-NE, en cuya margen izquierda se encuentra la cadena volcánica del Ampato, Sabancaya y Hualca Hualca, mientras que por la margen derecha se alinea la Cordillera Volcánica del Chila, que incluye al Mismi (5598 msnm). En el curso del rio Colca se han identificado numerosas surgencias de manifestaciones geotermales, desde Baños del Inca (en Callalli) hasta Paclla, a una altitud de 2100 - 3600 msnm (Fig. 1), así como en la zona de Pinchollo y Puyepuye a una altitud de 4300 - 4600 msnm (Fig. 1).
