description Aunque se ha argumentado que la desnutrición y sus consecuencias para el desarrollo infantil son irreversibles después de los 2 años, la evidencia en apoyo de estas hipótesis no es concluyente. Este documento de trabajo investiga el impacto de la nutrición en diferentes períodos desde la concepción hasta la infancia media en el rendimiento cognitivo en la adolescencia temprana utilizando datos de Etiopía, India, Perú y Vietnam. Con el fin de abordar los problemas de estimación, el documento desarrolla un marco conceptual que delinea los canales a través de los cuales la salud infantil afecta el desarrollo cognitivo y utiliza la variación exógena en el estado nutricional que surge de las crisis climáticas.
