La investigación partió de la problemática observada en el sistema educativo peruano respecto a la escasa aplicación de estrategias motivacionales que favorezcan la participación activa de los estudiantes en el aula de inglés. Se identificó que la carencia de estímulos adecuados por parte del docente afecta negativamente la producción oral, limitando el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas esenciales desde etapas tempranas. Bajo este contexto, se exploró teóricamente la motivación extrínseca como estrategia didáctica y su relación con la seguridad, confianza y disposición de los estudiantes para expresarse oralmente. Se realizó una revisión documental y análisis teórico centrado en la comprensión de factores motivacionales, percepciones estudiantiles y el impacto de estos elementos en el aprendizaje del idioma extranjero. Los hallazgos permiten concluir que la motivación extrínseca constituye una herramienta pedagógica significativa, capaz de estimular la expresión oral, promover la participación estudiantil y fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés en el nivel primario. Su aplicación oportuna puede proyectar beneficios formativos duraderos y contribuir a una educación comunicativa más efectiva y equitativa. This qualitative and descriptive research study aimed to analyze the role of extrinsic motivation in the development of oral expression in English among primary school students. The study emerged from the observed issue in the Peruvian educational system, where the lack or inadequate use of motivational strategies by teachers negatively affects students’ active participation and oral production. It was identified that classroom sessions often lack dynamic resources and engagement that encourage students to speak in the foreign language. Within this context, the theoretical foundations of extrinsic motivation as a didactic strategy were explored, as well as its relationship with students’ confidence, engagement, and willingness to communicate orally. The study employed documentary analysis and theoretical review to understand motivational factors, students’ perceptions of oral production, and other elements that may influence this process. The findings suggest that extrinsic motivation is a valuable pedagogical tool capable of stimulating oral expression, enhancing student participation, and strengthening the teaching and learning process of English at the primary level.
