These solutions were sprayed on to alumina substrates at 220 °C. The obtained films were amorphous and crystallized after annealing at 300 °C in air for 3 h. The annealed films were composed of a mixture of CuWO4 and WO3 phases. The film obtained from a solution with an equimolar ratio of Cu/W was pure CuWO4. The pure WO 3 films obtained have high surface 'irregularities', such as porosity. These surface 'irregularities' in the films were maintained or even increased as Cu/W molar ratio augments in the starting solution up to 10%. The gas sensitivity to butanol and ethanol vapors is also enhanced when the CuWO4 phase increases in the film by up to 7-10%; with further increments to this proportion the detection sensitivity decreases, so compromises are approximately 7-10%. The gas sensitivity of pure CuWO 4 was lower than that of pure WO3.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengElsevier BVThin Solid Filmsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessTungsten compoundsCopper compounds-1Ethanol-1Sol-gels-1Spraying-1Sensing properties-1Thin films-1https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#1.04.02-1Characterization and butanol/ethanol sensing properties of mixed tungsten oxide and copper tungstate films obtained by spray-sol-gelinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlereponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTEC#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#20.500.12390/764oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/7642024-05-30 15:22:53.704http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessmetadata only accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="814aada2-3d60-49d1-90f7-783d0167391b"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>Characterization and butanol/ethanol sensing properties of mixed tungsten oxide and copper tungstate films obtained by spray-sol-gel</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> <Title>Thin Solid Films</Title> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2003</PublicationDate> <DOI>https://doi.org/10.1016/S0040-6090(03)01048-4</DOI> <SCP-Number>2-s2.0-0142106811</SCP-Number> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Damián M.A.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01963" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Rodriguez Y.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01962" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Solis J.L.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01005" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Estrada W.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01889" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>Elsevier BV</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <Keyword>Tungsten compounds</Keyword> <Keyword>Copper compounds</Keyword> <Keyword>Ethanol</Keyword> <Keyword>Sol-gels</Keyword> <Keyword>Spraying</Keyword> <Keyword>Sensing properties</Keyword> <Keyword>Thin films</Keyword>
Mixed WO3-CuWO4 films have been prepared from an aqueous solution of copper sulfate and polytungsten gel with a molar ratio of Cu/W from 0 to 100%.
