Sumario:Objective: The objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the educational program “GrowingHealthy” in knowledge, attitudes and practices on breastfeeding exclusive breastfeeding among mothers with children under 6 months. Methodology: The type of longitudinal study used is pre-experimental pre-test and post-onetest group. The procedure was performed to 35 mothers with children under 6 months of age Comprehensive Nutrition Program Huaycán Hospital - Lima, 2011, to whom tests applied pre and post test to measure the effects of theintervention inknowledge, attitudes and practices regarding exclusive breastfeeding.The program was conductedover a period of 8 weeks. Results: The results show that mothers with children under 6 months increased theirknowledge, attitudes and practices regarding exclusive breastfeeding 100%. In the pretest, the frequency of scoremade in knowledge about breastfeeding sole mothers, 54% are located at the medium, while the 40% high and 5.7%in low. Regarding attitudes for 88.6% of mothers is located in the high and 11.4% in the middle. Also in practicefor 88.6% of others are located at high level and 11.4% in the middle. In the post-test score frequency achievedis 100% and is at high level in the knowledge, attitudes and practices on breastfeeding exclusive breastfeeding formothers with children under 6 months. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Education Program “Growing Healthy “waseffective and significant at 0.000 and located in the high level.
