Es sabido que el dolor del parto es la consecuencia de la estimulación de las vías aferentes de los nervios cuyos mecanismos receptores descansan entre las estructuras del canal del parto; pero no me voy a ocupar en estos momentos de los aspectos anátomo-fisiológicos o anátomo-patológicos de este dolor, ni de la infinidad de teorías existentes que tratan de explicar su origen y sus mecanismos; eso lo conocen ustedes mejor que yo; escuetamente trataré de referirme a las ventajas que emanan de tener un buen plan de ANALGESIA para la parturienta que confiada se entrega en nuestras manos.
