The usefulness of cytodiagnosis in medical practice, is no longer subject discussed; abundant literature accumulated in the fourth and fifth decades of this century has demonstrated the accuracy of the method and has also proved that the cytodiagnosis offers different possibilities, whichever is the territory of the organism in which it is applied or the type of discharge or exudate under review. All authors agree that the method achieves the best results when it is applied to the pelvic area.
La utilidad del citodiagnóstico en la práctica médica, es tema que ya no se discute; abundante literatura acumulada en la cuarta y quinta décadas de este siglo, ha demostrado la exactitud del método y ha probado también que el citodiagnóstico ofrece posibilidades diferentes, según cual sea el territorio del organismo en el cual se lo aplica o el tipo de secreción o exudado que se examina. Todos los autores están de acuerdo que el método logra los mejores resultados cuando se lo aplica al territorio ginecológico.
