In recent decades it has been emphasized about the dangers to the mother and the fruit conceptional restricting weight gain to figures ranging between 45 and 7.0 1.2 kg during pregnancy. On the other hand, it has been shown that increased maternal weight and pre-pregnancy weight are two factors that significantly influence the birth weight. In turn, the birth weight is important, because we have seen that has an impact on neonatal morbidity and mortality.
En las últimas décadas se ha enfatizado acerca de los peligros que acarrea para la madre y su fruto concepcional la restricción de la ganancia ponderal a cifras que oscilan entre 45 y 7,0 kg durante la gestación 1,2. De otro lado, se ha demostrado que el incremento de peso de la madre y el peso anterior al embarazo son dos factores que influyen de manera notable en el peso del recién nacido. A su vez, el peso al nacer reviste importancia, por cuanto se ha visto que tiene repercusiones sobre la morbimortalidad del neonato.
