Sumario: | Kantian public sphere can be understood as the ambit of regulation of interpersonal relationships consecuences that affect third parties that were not involved in the initial relationship. That is the ground where State should intervene. This is considered by John Dewey. On the other hand, in the case of Hannah Arendt’s thought, the public sphere is understood as the space where deliberación about public affairs happens. In both cases, there is a verification of the disappearance of the public. Public sphere seems to be invaded by instrumental rationality that convert governmental decisions in economic and technical affairs. In the face of this diagnosis of the disappearance of politics, authors as Jürgen Habemas and Rainer Forst allow us to understand that a democratic State should ensure the fulfillmnet of democratic procedures and the justifications before the autonomous subjects. We can speak about an authentic public sphere when we can see the institutions that ensure democratic procedures for the obtaining of norms and the justification of social orders in the face of the danger of arbitrary domination. Nevertheless the scope of this institutions does not have to coincide with national borders according Nancy Fraser. Conversely, the existence of systems of transnational social relationships carries the need of considering the existence of a transnational public sphere, where should be erected political intitutions that ensure the justification of norms and social orders before each autonomous subject. |
