With the auto-da-fes it was sought to implicate the one-act population public of reaffirmation of the faith that you demonstrated the colonial and the Holy Office State’s power to them.Mediante el presente estudio se busca comprender a los autos de fe, como uno de los mecanismos más importantes empleados por el tribunal de la Inquisición y las autoridades virreinales para legitimarse y asegurar su dominio sobre la mentalidad de la población. El procedimiento inquisitorial se caracterizó principalmente por promover la inseguridad y desconfianza entre habitantes y acusados para fomentar el temor y delación entre ellos, mientras que durante los interrogatorios se buscaba restablecer un medio de confianza asimétrica entre los jueces y el procesado.
